October 18, 2009 Lots going on here. The play-along book mentioned below is available now at sheet music dealers everywhere. It has been selling exceptionally well and the next books in this series are already being planned. In addition, I just wrote and recorded 70 play-along tracks for FJH's forth-coming band method book. We've been planning the next Wave Mechanics Union CD, I'm finishing up a commissioned piece for Southwest Minnesota State University's wind ensemble, working on more Jon Anderson arrangements (another orchestral treatment is up right now), and working on Innsbruck Variations, which I want to have done by 2010. Is that enough?

June 12, 2009 Site updates have been slow while I'm working on a host of new projects. As I write this, I'm just finishing a book and play-along CD (co-writing with Brian Balmages) that will be available from The FJH Music Company this fall. More info here as soon as it is available, but this is a really fun project.

June 10, 2009 I just finished two new Jon Anderson arrangements, and I'm happy to give you just a little excerpt here. One is for large orchestra, and will be available on CD by the end of 2009. The other is a big band tune! Members of Wave Mechanics Union helped to produce it. It's Jon's tune and my arrangement. Here's a quick sample. That's me on trombone, too!

Title: Sweet Jazz (excerpt)
by Jon Anderson
arranged by Ryan Fraley.

Febuary 14, 2009 Alabama Orchestra Association: The Festival Orchestral premiered Scherzo for Orchestra in February, 2009. Michael Gagliardo, conductor. Thanks guys! It was a great time, and the performance was incredible!

January 1, 2009 Now in progress is a new work for youth orchestra, Innsbruck Variations. Score and parts will be available here as a free download. Sign up to receive notification when the piece is available.

October 1, 2008 The new CD from Wave Mechanics Union is now available. WMU is a recording project jazz orchestra co-founded by Ralph Johnson, Lydia McAdams, and myself. Our current release is called Second Season: Progressive and Classic Rock as Jazz. You can find out more at www.progjazz.com.
